Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a meeting of the Provincial Council for the Coordination and Expansion of Quranic Activities, Hojatoleslam Gorgi stated that honoring the legacy of the Revolution’s martyrs, particularly Imam Khamenei, requires a continued commitment to the path they established. He noted that following the martyr leader's vision remains a collective duty.
Gorgi further referenced a recent, decisive ruling by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution regarding the national framework for promoting Quranic culture. He confirmed that the secretariat of the Council for the Development of Quranic Culture, which had been operating on a trial basis within the Islamic Propagation Organization for three years, has now been permanently established there. He welcomed the decision, expressing hope for the organization to serve as a capable steward of Quranic culture.
Turning to the provincial council's agenda, the official proposed the inclusion of two prominent local Quranic activists into its formal structure. Under the council’s regulations, a male and a female activist have been nominated and, pending final approval, will join as official members in upcoming sessions.
Gorgi stressed the urgent need to strengthen the operational secretariat of the provincial council. He noted that more than two years since its formation, the body has yet to reach its desired operational capacity, calling for its executive framework to be reinforced without delay.
Highlighting the necessity of dedicated provincial funding, the Director General said a specific budget line must be allocated to support the secretariat's activities, enabling it to back Quranic institutions and activists, as well as to execute various Quranic programs.
Finally, he reminded all provincial bodies of their legal obligation to ensure financial transparency. In line with regulations set by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, all government agencies and institutions in the province are required to submit reports detailing their Quranic budget allocations and expenditures to the secretariat for proper oversight.
